C.I. Vat Brown 72(8CI,9CI) (12237-41-1)

  Vat Brown 72 is a kind of dyes with cas registry number of 12237-41-1. It is dark brown powder which is insoluble in water and slightly soluble in xylene. When it is soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid , it shows red wine. After this solution is diluted, it will produce reddish brown flocculent precipitate. Besides this, Vat Brown 72 will show red brown in the hydrosulfite solution and yellow brown in acidic solution. This compound also named as Brown GG ; Dycosthren Brown GG ; Mikethrene Brown GG ; Nihonthrene Brown GG .

  Vat Brown 72 can be manufactured by mixing Vat Olive R (C.I.69005) and Vat Brown 3GR in the accordance with a certain proportion of  72:28.

 As a dye, the main use of Vat Brown 72 is to dye the t.extiles. For example, Vat Brown 72 can be used to dye the cotton fiber and directly print the cotton. It also can be used for dyeing viscose fiber, silk and cotton blended fabric Victoria. Besides, Vat Brown 72 can be used with disperse dyes for dyeing polyester-cotton blend fabric by the method of Bath melt dyeing.
