With CAS Registry Number 356-12-7, Fluocinonide is also can be named as 6alpha,9-Difluoro-11beta,16alpha,17,21-tetrahydroxypregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione, cyclic 16,17-acetal with acetone, 21-acetate ; Bestasone ; Biscosal ; Cortalar ; Fluocinolide acetate ; Fluocinolone acetonide 21-acetate ; Fluocinolone acetonide acetate , it belongs to the product category such as steroids. When heated to decomposition Fluocinonide emits toxic fumes of F-. Besides, Fluocinonide is poison by ingestion, subcutaneous, and intraperitoneal routes and very toxic if swallowed, so it is possible risk of harm to the unborn child. Moreover, Fluocinonide should not be used if infection is present and not be applied to the eyes or to sensitive areas such as the genitals or anus. Fluocinonide ranks as a "high-potency" (second-highest rank) topical corticosteroid and minimal amounts should be used for a minimal length of time to avoid the occurrence of adverse effects.
