  Tellurium dioxide with CAS registry number of 7446-07-3 is a solid oxide of tellurium which is encountered in two different forms, the yellow orthorhombic mineral tellurite, β-Tellurium dioxide , and the synthetic, colourless tetragonal (paratellurite), α-Tellurium dioxide , highly insoluble in water and soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid. It can act both as an acid or as a base due to its an amphoteric substance. It is incompatible with strong acids and strong oxidizing agents.
