Specification:

The IUPAC name of this product is?sodium iodide .?With the CAS registry number 7681-82-5,?it is also named as?Caswell No. 777 ; EPA Pesticide Chemical Code 075702 ; HSDB 750 ; Iodure de sodium ; Ioduril ; Jodid sodny ; Natrii iodidum ; Natriumjodid ; Sodium monoiodide?.?

The Sodium iodide is beads whcih should be stored under nitrogen in a tightly closed container and the container should be stored in a cool, dry place. It is sensitive to hygroscopic. Sodium iodide is commonly used to treat and prevent iodine deficiency. And it is used in polymerase chain reactions, and also (as an acetone solution) in the Finkelstein reaction.

When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of I? and Na2O.?It is irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.?Additionally, it is moderately toxic by ingestion, intravenous, and intraperitoneal routes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

The following is the first aid measures of Sodium iodide . 1.Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid. 2. Skin: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. 3. Ingestion: Get medical aid. Wash mouth out with water. 4. Inhalation: Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. Get medical aid.

The other characteristics of this product can be summarized as:?(1)H-Bond Donor: 0 ; (2)H-Bond Acceptor: 1 ; (3)Exact Mass: 149.894238 ; (4)MonoIsotopic Mass: 149.894238 ; (5)Heavy Atom Count: 2 ; (6)Complexity: 2 ; (7)Covalently-Bonded Unit Count: 2.?People can use the following data to convert to the molecule structure. SMILES: [Na+].[I-]; InChI: InChI=1/HI.Na/h1H;/q;+1/p-1.

The following is the toxicity data which has been tested.
