Specification:

?Zirconium oxychloride (CAS NO.7699-43-6) is one of the most commonly encountered water-soluble derivatives of zirconium. The resulting solutions contain moderate concentrations of hydrogen ions and have pH's of less than 7.0. They react as acids to neutralize bases. These neutralizations generate heat, but less or far less than is generated by neutralization of inorganic acids, inorganic oxoacids and carboxylic acid. They usually do not react as either oxidizing agents or reducing agents but such behavior is possible.
?Zirconium oxychloride (CAS NO.7699-43-6) is stable. It should be kept in a cool, dry, dark location in a tightly sealed container or cylinder. Keep it away from incompatible materials, ignition sources and untrained individuals. Secure and label area. It is necessary to protect containers/cylinders from physical damage and avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle Zirconium oxychloride (7699-43-6) or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood.

Report:

Reported in EPA TSCA Inventory.

Packinggroup: III
Storage Temperature: Keep in a cool, dry, dark location in a tightly sealed container or cylinder. Keep away from incompatible materials, ignition sources and untrained individuals. Secure and label area. Protect containers/cylinders from physical damage.

Usage:

To make other zirconium compound, to precipitate acid dyes, to prepare high quality pigment toners, to improve properties of color lakes, has been used in prepn of body deodorants and antiperspirant preparations.
