[Fire Potential]

This material is combustible.
[Ingestion]

Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Activated charcoal: administer charcoal as a slurry (240 ml water/30 g charcoal). Usual dose: 25 to 100 g in adults/adolescents.
[Inhalation]

If symptoms develop, move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Keep person warm and quiet; seek immediate medical attention.
[Skin]

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed area with soap and water. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Launder clothing before reuse.
[Eyes]

If symptoms develop, immediately move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. Flush eyes gently with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids apart; seek immediate medical attention.
[Storage]

In general, toxic materials or that can decompose into toxic components should be stored in cool ventilated place, out of sun, away from fire hazard. Substance must be periodically inspected and monitored. Incompatible materials should be isolated.
[Handling]

All chemicals should be considered hazardous. Avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood.
[Inhalation]

Dipropylene glycol has little vapor hazard at ordinary temperatures.
[Skin]

Dry skin. Defats the skin. See inhalation. May be absorbed through the skin.
[Eyes]

Redness, pain.
[Hazards]

Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions.
[Personal Protection]

Protective gloves and clothing. Safety goggles.
[Respirators]

Use NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator appropriate for exposure of concern.
[Exposure Effects]

CNS depression was reported in dogs given 6 ml/kg iv. No toxicity was noted when 5 ml/kg was given orally.
[Exposure limit(s)]

TLV: 100 ppm; 606 mg/m3 (skin) (ACGIH 1991-1992). OSHA PEL: TWA 100 ppm (600 mg/m3) skin NIOSH REL: TWA 100 ppm (600 mg/m3) ST 150 ppm (900 mg/m3) skin NIOSH IDLH: 600 ppm

Stop discharge if possible. Call fire department. Avoid contact with liquid. Isolate and remove discharged material. Notify local health and pollution control agencies. Evacuate areas. Should be removed. Chemical and physical treatment. Effect of low concentrations on aquatic life is unknown. May be dangerous if it enters water intakes. Notify local health and wildlife officials. Notify operators of nearby water intakes.
