It is a colourless to pale yellow liquid, be insoluble in water. Triphenyl phosphite (CAS NO.101-02-0) are susceptible to form highly toxic and flammable phosphine gas in the presence of strong reducing agents, such as hydrides. Partial oxidation may result in the release of toxic phosphorus oxides.
